The Hope Diamond, on view to everyone
At the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, the Hope Diamond, a deep blue stone of 45.52 carats, is on view free of charge. Harry Winston gave it to the Smithsonian in 1958, and it famously arrived by registered mail.
A great diamond is as much about its record as its fire. Every 2N diamond travels fully insured with its IGI report, is held to Ideal cut with Excellent polish and symmetry, and is photographed as the exact stone you will receive.
